How to play Bluffin' It
Bluffin' It is a free social deduction party game for 3–12 players. Every task, one player is secretly the faker: everyone else sees the prompt, but the faker doesn't. They have to blend in while the group answers, discusses, and votes on who's bluffing.
Play free nowGetting started
- One player opens bluffinit.com and taps Create Game. They're the host.
- Everyone else taps Join Game and types the 4-letter room code, or just opens the invite link.
- Each player picks a name and an emoji character.
- The host chooses a play mode, the number of rounds, tasks per round, and timers, then starts the game.
No app, no download, and no account. It works on any phone or laptop browser.
Each round
- A faker is chosen in secret. Only the faker knows it's them.
- Someone picks the round type. A random player who isn't the faker chooses what kind of round to play.
- Everyone answers. Players see the prompt and respond before the timer runs out. The faker sees only "You're the faker!" and has to guess what everyone else is doing.
- Discuss and vote. Answers are revealed, the group argues, and everyone votes for who they think the faker is. Votes show up live, so you can watch suspicion build.
- The reveal. If the group catches the faker, the round ends. If not, the faker survives to the next task, and has to bluff again.
Round types
Raise Your Hand
A yes-or-no prompt like "Raise your hand if you've ever waved back at someone who wasn't waving at you." Did the faker hesitate?
Number It
Rate something on a scale (1–6 online, or 1–5 fingers in person). The faker has to pick a number that doesn't stand out.
Pick a Player
Everyone points at the player who best fits the prompt. The faker has to follow the crowd without knowing the question.
Answer It
Type a short answer. Here the faker gets a decoy question that's close to the real one, so their answer is almost right.
Make a Face (In Person only)
Everyone makes the face the prompt describes, all at once. Good luck faking a face when you don't know the feeling.
Scoring
- Catch the faker (they get the most votes, no tie): every player who voted for them scores 150.
- The faker escapes: the faker scores 75, and anyone who still voted for them scores 50.
Highest score after the last round wins.
Two ways to play
Online: over Discord, Zoom, or FaceTime
Get everyone on a voice or video call. Answers are typed and tapped on phones, then shown to the whole group for discussion. Perfect for long-distance friends and remote team games.
In Person: same room, phones in hand
Your phone shows the prompt, then a synced 3-2-1 countdown tells everyone to act it out at once: raise your hand, hold up fingers, point at someone, or pull a face. You'll see the faker freeze in real life. Voting still happens on phones.

Tips for the faker?
Wait a beat and watch others before answering, keep your answer middle-of-the-road, and during discussion, accuse someone else first.
